The provincial budget deficit has ballooned again. In a fiscal update Thursday, Finance Minister John Lohr predicted the deficit would climb to 1.29 billion dollars by next spring. That’s $64.4 million higher than it forecast in September. The government says tax cuts and more health care spending is to blame along with covering the costs of fighting wildfires and drought this summer.
