The Bluenose II has pulled the plug on an annual trip to the United States. The Lunenburg Marine Museum Society made the announcement on social media, saying it made the “difficult decision” not to travel to Gloucester, Massachusetts in early September for the Gloucester Schooner Festival. While not directly blaming the trade war with the United States, the Society says with so many Canadians travelling within the country this year, it is turning the focus to Nova Scotia’s busy tourism season, supporting the communities they’ll be visiting.
