Concrete work to begin Wednesday on Edgewater Project

Concrete crews will begin work this Wednesday on the remaining curbs and sidewalks at Kedy’s Landing and moving down Edgewater in Mahone Bay. At Kedy’s Landing, the two entrances to the seaside parking lot will be poured in concrete. To keep things accessible, one entrance will stay open while the other is being done. Once poured, the concrete needs about three days to set before vehicles can drive on it. Also this week, contractors will return to finish the post-and-rail and post-and-rope features along the shoreline side of the trail. This has to be completed before paving of the trail begins. The asphalt crew is expected to follow behind the curb and sidewalk work, likely starting the week of June 1. Officials say if all goes as planned, both the road and trail will be finished soon, and landscaping of the green spaces will begin just in time for summer.
