Residents of Lunenburg will soon have water meters installed and be billed on actual usage, instead of the flat-rate system. Town council approved the awarding of the contract to Neptune Technology Group at a revised cost of just over $1 million. The goal is to make the system fairer, with residents billed on water they use and to encourage water conservation. Water meters also help the Town identify leaks within the system more quickly, preventing waste and costly damage. When the time for installation comes, residents will hear from the contractor with information about the project and how to book their appointments, either online or by phone.
