Premier Tim Houston says the provincial government will not hesitate to implement retaliatory measures, if they are needed, against American tariffs. The premier has expressed his disappointment with U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to increase tariffs on Canadian goods from 25 to 35 per cent. The increased tariffs will not affect products that are compliant with CUSMA.
