It’s going to be a busy Mahone Bay Council meeting tonight. Along with the usual staff and committee reports, council will receive more than 20 letters from residents regarding the sidewalk patio. Tonight’s meeting includes a report concerning the current approval process for sidewalk patios, which is being presented for information, while a report on the development of a new bylaw concerning sidewalk patios is anticipated in September. A brief presentation from the Minard family is also expected. Council has directed town staff to look at best practices used by other municipalities for sidewalk patios and review pedestrian safety and design recommendations. Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:00.
