Mahone Bay Cybersecurity Breach

A cybersecurity breach at the company that is responsible for the CodeRED alert system has resulted in the platform being deactivated. In a social media post, the Town of Mahone Bay says the system operates independently from the municipal systems and all its technological infrastructure is secure. But officials say that if you signed up for CodeRED on their website and the password you used to register is the same as the one you use to access other online services, it is recommended that you immediately change these passwords and replace them with a unique, strong password for each service. The company that operates CodeRed says the data stolen from them contact details, including name, address, phone number, and email address, as well as the password associated with the account profile creation. The data may be made public.
