Nova Scotia Power has made good on its promise to remove social insurance numbers from customer profiles on its system. They made the announcement Tuesday, the same day they had promised to have them removed. The utility says an external auditing firm has confirmed it has been done. The company also announced meter connections have been restored and customer billing will return to normal, although it specifies it may take one billing cycle for people to see it on their bills. The company was the target of a cyber attack last year that jeopardized 900,000 current and previous customers’ personal information.
