Thousands of WestJet flights have been grounded as the Calgary-based airline’s flight attendants hit the picket lines. The company began grounding planes prior to the strike affecting tens of thousands of passengers. WestJet says passengers whose flights have been affected will be refunded. Contract negotiations stalled when the two sides couldn’t agree on wages for work being done on the ground.
