As students prepare to head out for the first day of school, the Nova Scotia RCMP reminds motorists and pedestrians to remember the rules and plan for more vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Motorists are reminded to slow down in school zones and never pass a school bus with its Stop arm extended and lights flashing. Speeding and passing school buses will cost you a fine and demerit points on your licence. And police warn that with the beginning of a new school year, new pressures on students may exist to share intimate photos of themselves by text or online. Students are reminded not to accept friend requests from people they don’t know and to remember that sending a photo or video over the internet or phone means they don’t have control over who sees it.
